A Note to Audio Book Readers – Specifically of the Male Persuasion
When the story describes a woman as tall, statuesque, powerful . . . when the woman in question is intelligent and highly capable, please please please don’t read all her lines in the same high, breathy voice that you would use for a sweet-but-dim chorus girl who just came off the dance floor and needs to catch her breath.
If you want an example of how to do female voices, check out Neil Gaiman reading any of his own work.
